Who we are
Daawat is an app for planning private gatherings, operated by Devletes. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never do with it.
What we collect
- Your mobile number — how you sign in, and how we reach you.
- Your profile — the name and photo you choose, and your family details if you add them.
- What you create — events, guest lists, dishes, checklists, photos, wall posts and expense records.
- Numbers you add — when you invite someone by number, we store that number so we can connect you when they join.
- Technical basics — IP address, browser type and timestamps, kept for security and to keep records of who invited whom.
Mobile numbers and text messages
Devletes does not share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. No mobile information is sold, rented or passed on to anyone for their own marketing.
We use your number for two things only: to text you a one-time verification code when you confirm your number or reset your password, and — where enabled — to deliver an invitation another Daawat user sent you.
Message frequency: one message per verification or password reset request, and one message per invitation sent by a user. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Once you opt out we record it against your number and no Daawat user can text you again, whoever they are.
A verification code you ask for yourself is not part of that. Those are one-time security messages, sent over a separate service, and they still arrive after you opt out — otherwise declining invitations would cost you the only way back into your account.
Text messages are delivered through Twilio, which processes your number only to send the message on our behalf.
How we use what we collect
To run the app: show you your events, tell people who is coming, work out who owes what, and send you notifications you have asked for. To keep the app safe: spot abuse, enforce our invitation rules, and keep a record of who added each number. That is it — we do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell data.
Who else sees it
Other guests at an event see what you share there — your name, photo, RSVP, dishes, posts and expenses. Your phone number is visible to people you are connected with.
We use a small number of service providers to run Daawat: hosting and storage, Twilio for text messages, Stripe for optional paid features, and push notification services run by Apple, Google and Mozilla. They handle data only to provide their service to us.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
How long we keep it
Your account data stays until you ask us to delete it. Records of who invited which number, and of opt-out requests, are kept for as long as we need them to show we followed the messaging rules — deleting an account does not erase an opt-out, because that would let someone text you again.
Your choices
You can edit or remove your profile, photos and events in the app at any time. You can turn off push notifications per event or entirely. You can reply STOP to any text. To get a copy of your data or have your account deleted, email support@daawat.app.
Security and children
We protect your data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords and access controls. No system is perfect, so please use a strong password.
Daawat is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
