Changing or cancelling
What you can change, and which changes notify your guests.
Everything you set in the wizard stays editable. Some changes notify your guests and some do not.
What reaches your guests
Notifies everyone going
The start or end time, and the venue: its name, its address, or where the pin sits.
Saves quietly
Title, description, cover, food arrangement, cost settings, reply deadline and visibility. The page updates for everyone; nobody is notified.
Only published events notify at all. Editing a draft never sends anything.
Cancelling
Cancelling asks you for a reason and sends it to everyone invited, including the households of anyone invited. The event page stays up marked as cancelled rather than disappearing, and the replies, menu and expenses are all kept, so an event called off at short notice can still be settled up afterwards.
Cancelling and deleting are available to whoever created the event. A cohost can change everything else but cannot end the event.
Watch out โ Deleting is a separate action and is permanent. It removes the event, its menu, its photos and its expense history for everyone. Cancel if the gathering is off; delete only to remove it entirely.
