Alerts & the bell
What we ping you about, and how to quiet it down.
Daawat only contacts you about events you are part of.
What you will hear about
-
Invitations — Someone has added you to a daawat. On couples and family events everyone in the household is told, whoever the invitation named.
-
Cohosting — Someone has asked you to help run their event, or answered an offer you made.
-
Replies — Hosts and cohosts are told when a guest responds or changes their headcount.
-
Food — A dish you were assigned, or a dish someone claimed on an event you are hosting.
-
Money — A new expense on an event you are attending, or someone marking a payment to you.
-
Announcements — Notes the host has pinned to the event wall.
-
Reminders — A day before the event, and again two hours before it starts.
Turning the volume down
-
Mute one daawat — The mute switch in your reply box stops that event notifying you. You stay on the guest list and can still see everything. Muting covers you alone, not the rest of your household.
-
Mute a circle — Silences every event hosted within that circle, from the circle page.
Watch out — If Daawat says notifications are blocked, the block is held by your browser or phone rather than by Daawat, so it cannot be lifted from inside the app. Re-allow the site in your browser or phone settings, then return here.
