Replying to an invite
Yes, maybe, or no โ plus how many of you are coming.
Replying tells the host whether to expect you and how many people you are bringing. On events that split costs, the headcount you give also determines your share.
Going
You are counted for food and seating, and included in the split if there is one.
Maybe
Counted separately from the yeses so the host can see both figures. Come back and firm it up whenever you know.
Can't
You drop out of every count, and out of the bill.
The headcount
Adults, children and grandparents each have their own counter, and hosts see the three figures separately. Each counter goes up to twenty. You are always included, so a yes or a maybe counts at least one person.
Numbers already filled in come from the host's choice of who the event is for, and on family events from the family list in your profile. They can be changed freely.
Naming who is coming
On couples and family events your family appears above the counters. Tapping a person marks them as coming and raises their counter by one. Tapping them again removes them.
A counter cannot go below the number of people you have named. It can be raised above that number for anyone who is not on your family list.
Solo events
Nobody is shown until you tap More people coming.
Couples events
You and your partner are shown. The rest of your family sits behind the same link.
Family events
Everyone on your family list is shown.
The guest list shows a face for each person you named, and a figure for anyone counted but not named.
Note โ On couples and family events there is one reply for the whole household rather than one each. Anyone in the household can open it and change it, and it shows who answered last.
Notes and muting
The note goes to the host and carries anything they need to know, such as an allergy, a late arrival, or a spare seat in your car.
The mute switch stops that event notifying you while leaving you on the guest list. It applies to you alone and not to the rest of your household.
You can change your reply as often as you like until the deadline, if the host set one. After it passes the buttons close and your last answer stands.
