Add them once and your headcount fills itself in on every invite.
Your family is the list of people who normally come with you. Filling it in once means family invitations arrive with your headcount already filled in, and it lets your household be billed as one rather than person by person.
Relationships and what they count as
The relationship you choose says who the person is to you. Events count them by the column that relationship falls into.
Partner
Counted as an adult.
Other adult
A grown-up sibling, cousin or anyone else living with you. Counted as an adult.
Child
Counted in its own kids column.
Grandparent
Counted in its own grandparents column.
Members who are on Daawat themselves
If a family member has their own Daawat account and you link them, the two of you are one household on every couples and family event.

One invitation reaches you both — A host who invites either of you has invited the household. You are both told about it.

One reply between you — Either of you can answer, and either of you can change that answer afterwards.

One of you settles — The household gets a single bill rather than one each.
The family name
The family name is set by whoever started the family and belongs to the family rather than to a person. It appears beside your name on guest lists and balance rows.
Watch out — Editing your family while you hold replies to upcoming family-mode daawats brings up a list of those events. Existing replies keep the numbers you gave at the time and are not updated, so revisit any that are now wrong.
