Who is this for?
Sets whether an invite reaches one person, a couple, or a whole family.
This setting decides two things: the number that appears in each guest's reply box before they touch it, and whether costs are divided per person or per household.
Solos
An invitation reaches one person. Their reply starts at one adult, and every guest is their own household when the bill is split.
Couples
Partners are welcome without being named. Replies start at two adults.
Families
Children and grandparents are welcome. Replies start from whatever that guest has listed as their family.
It sets a starting number, not a limit
The number is written into a guest's reply the first time they open it, and is not applied again after that. Guests can adjust their counts freely in every mode, and changing this setting later does not alter replies that have already been given.
When a guest goes beyond what the mode implies, they see an advisory note and can still save, and you are notified of the change. Family mode has no ceiling and never shows the note.
Watch out — This setting locks as soon as the first reply or the first expense exists. After that it cannot be changed for the rest of the event.
Note — The modes do not distinguish between children and grandparents. There is no setting for "children welcome, grandparents not". If a particular guest should bring fewer people, speak to them directly; the app will not enforce it.
